Old Colony Trade & Technical School purchased the Old Colony
Trade School in January 1996 and has enhanced training while assuming
responsibilities of the former ownership.
The Old Colony Trade School was founded and has been in
existence since 1957. During this time, the school has been
responsible for helping students pass the Master and
Journeyman Plumbing Code examinations in Massachusetts.
The Old Colony Trade & Technical School is licensed by the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Education.
All school hours acquired at Old Colony Trade and Technical
School are accredited and accepted by the Board of Examiners of
Plumbers and Gasfitters of Massachusetts towards the 300 hour
education requirement for the Journeyman Pluming and Gas Fitting
code examination and the Master Plumbing and Gas Fitting code
examination and the Master Plumbing and Gasfitting code 100 hour
education requirement for licensure.
In 1989, Old Colony Trade School added Domestic Air
Conditioning and Oil, Gas Burner Technology courses to meet
the demand for qualified technicians in these fields. Also,
an Apprentice Plumbing Course was initiated in 1993 in order
to meet the needs of the plumbing trade.
